A controlled exercise on the reformer for recovery after birth

Postnatal reformer Pilates is a safe, gradually built movement form designed specifically to support recovery after birth.

Precise movement, safe rebuilding

We work at a slower, controlled tempo so the body strengthens gradually, without overload. The focus is on activating the deep muscles, rebuilding stability and relearning healthy movement patterns: special attention goes to stabilising the abdominal wall, the pelvic floor and posture. The reformer allows individually tailored, controlled loading, and helps counterbalance everyday strain such as lifting and carrying your baby. This is not an intense, exhausting workout but conscious rebuilding.

This class is for you if

  • you want to return to movement safely after giving birth,
  • gradual, professionally structured recovery matters to you,
  • you want to reactivate your deep muscles and feel stable again,
  • you want a solid base before more intense training later.

What should you bring?

We provide all the equipment; you only need comfortable workout clothes. We recommend grippy socks, and a bottle of water and a small towel come in handy.

Common questions about this class

When can I start postnatal classes after giving birth?

After a vaginal birth usually after the six-week medical check, if your doctor found everything in order. After a caesarean it usually takes longer. In every case your current condition and your doctor's feedback matter most.

Can I come while breastfeeding?

Yes, breastfeeding by itself is not a reason to stay away.

How is this different from regular classes?

It is not a lighter version of a general workout: recovery after birth, the abdominal wall, the pelvic floor and gradual strengthening are at the centre, and the tempo of the exercises follows that.

What if I cannot do one of the exercises?

No problem: we modify it or replace it with another one. The goal is not perfect execution but a safe return to movement, listening to your body.

Do I need my doctor's go-ahead to start?

Yes: start after the six-week medical check, with your doctor's go-ahead, and before your first class tell the instructor how the birth went and whether you have any complaints.

What do you pay attention to because of diastasis recti and the pelvic floor?

The class is built on activating the deep muscles, stabilising the abdominal wall and the function of the pelvic floor, at a slow, controlled tempo, without overload. If you have, or suspect you have, diastasis recti or a pelvic floor complaint, tell the instructor before your first class and ask your doctor for advice.
