Guests in a row, holding a squat at the ballet barre in the Zen Den studio room

Barre Flow links strength work at the ballet barre into continuous, flowing sequences: the precision of barre meets the breath led flow you may know from yoga.

Strength that keeps moving

The class starts with a warm up; in the main part we work at the barre and on the mat, and we finish with stretching and a cool down. The exercises are not separate tasks but sequences that run into each other: small range repetitions, holds and slow transitions follow one another, so the muscles keep working while the movement stays smooth. We also bring in light small equipment, such as a small ball or a resistance band. The class is gentle on the joints, with the focus on posture, balance and the rhythm of your breath.

This class is for you if

  • you like barre classes but want a more continuous, flowing version,
  • you want to strengthen and stretch in the same class,
  • you want to improve your balance and posture,
  • you are looking for a gentle workout that still asks for stamina.

What should you bring?

We provide all the equipment; you only need comfortable workout clothes. Grippy Pilates socks keep you stable both at the barre and on the mat. Water and a small towel come in handy.

Common questions about this class

How is Barre Flow different from Barre Pilates?

Both build on controlled strength work at the barre. In Barre Flow the exercises follow each other with fewer stops, linked into continuous sequences with a flow borrowed from yoga, and part of the class happens on the mat. Barre Pilates spends more time on precise, small movements and longer static holds.

Do I need ballet or yoga experience?

No. The instructor guides you through every movement step by step, and the barre gives you stable support. If something is still hard, you get an easier version.

Where is the Barre Flow class in Szeged?

Studio classes run in our Attila utca room, in the city centre.

When do I need to check with a doctor first?

In case of an acute injury, hip or knee replacement, advanced osteoporosis or pregnancy, ask for medical advice before joining, and tell the instructor about your condition.

Can men come too?

Yes, Barre Flow is not only for women: anyone can join, with no ballet or yoga background. The instructor guides you through every movement step by step, and the barre gives you stable support.
